Lesson Plans

"Children should be educated and instructed in the principles of freedom."
- John Adams

The website currently has eight lesson plans, each aligned to the Virginia SOLs for eighth grade Civics and Economics; however, they are compatible with high school history and government standards as well. These lesson plans may be adapted to meet the teacher’s time constraints, student needs, and student ability level. While some of these lesson plans may be done in collaboration with your visiting lawyer/judge,  we recommend that you reserve these activities for use before the visit or implement them at other relevant times of the year. We encourage teachers to send us their own lesson plans for consideration so that we may continue to expand the collection of existing plans. Full credit will be attributed to the creator of plans we use.
